Village Basket

Village Basket is an agricultural products sale system aiming to vitalize rural economy and increase jobs to attract work force return to villages.By establishing a set of online and offline platforms, Village Basket creates a sustainable sales chain connecting village producers and city consumers together.

By interviewing different kinds of interest groups,I get to know the diverse aspirations. Then I try to figure out some design strategies to combine all the needs and turn them into motivation. Firstly, I find some reference cases.

To practice my strategies, four design contents are made.

03 Outcome

A complete business system

The first design is a vegetable sale system that help villagers sells their local vegetable products to urban communities. Also improve the service experience of community consumers.

A set of multi-end applications

In order to make the sales system run smoothly, I design a set of mobile device interfaces containing a producer end, a consumer end and an administrator end.

Brand & Products

Personalized branding and distinctive product packaging can make agricultural products gain the trust and favor of consumers.

A rural land use plan

The industrialization of agriculture in the countryside requires the integration and planning of land. I creat a set of rural land use phase plans based on the changes of rural industrial patterns at different stages.

01 Background & Research

In China, poverty alleviation is a significant issue.
Previous poverty alleviation policies mainly focus on material and economic supports.

However, these supports are not sustainable and can not help villagers build their own property.

Dongyue Village is located in Shaoguan, Guangzhou city, Guangdong province, southeast of China.
It`s on the list of Guangdong province poverty village.

So I chose it for field research.
